HOW LONG, O LORD, WILL YOU FORGET MY PLEA
and hide the beauty of your face from me?
How long must I persuade my doubting soul
to put my trust in your control?

2 How long, O Lord, must I endure each day
while still the sorrow in my heart remains?
How long will every battle bring disgrace
and lead me near to death’s embrace?

Look on me and hear my cry,
give light to my eyes.

Yet I will trust in your steadfast love,
rejoice in your saving grace,
for you have always been good to me
and, Lord, I will sing your praise.

3 How long before we see our hope revealed,
when all our brokenness at last is healed?
How long until your glory fills the skies
and we behold you with our eyes?
