b Hillingdon, Middx c1874, d Aix-en-Provence, France 1939. He was a Prof at the RAM and (from 1907) Organist at All Saints’ Ch, Margaret St, London, where he remained for over 30 years and gained a reputation as an excellent trainer of choirs. The Vale Psalter, compiled while he was at All Saints, comprised Gregorian Psalm chants in the Solesmes (traditional French Benedictine) mode. DMus (Lambeth) 1938. No.912.
