Tochter Sion, Cologne (1741)

Composer

The popular name is adopted from the last two words of its much longer German title; the book bears the name of Cologne-born Dr Heinrich Lindenborn (1712–1750), It broke away from the traditional style of current hymn-books, containing only his own new texts (some in Latin) and translations. It has yielded one enduring but now altered tune. No.505.
