b Horsham, Sussex 1945. His Salvationist family settled in Tongham near Aldershot, where he responded to the gospel as a child, finding that faith and music mixed easily. He attended George Abbot Sch for Boys, Guildford, and after a year’s library work trained as a teacher at Sussex Univ, graduating 1968; also ARCM, majoring in the trumpet. He briefly taught music at Newhaven Tideway Sch, and then was Director of Music at Longhill Sch. In 1976 he became a lay pastor in an Anglican Church, and 3 years later joined the leadership team at the Church of Christ the King, Brighton, Sussex. He ministers there primarily as an evangelist but also as crisis-counsellor, outreach organiser and song/music leader. As an author/composer and musician he has had several classical works performed, his music has often featured at annual Spring Harvest events, notably in the 1990s, he leads the singing at many united gatherings within the renewal movement, and he trains others in music and worship. He has 4 compositions in Let’s Praise (1988) and 8 in the 1997 edn of MP. His work has reached wider circles through Mission Praise, and he has ministered in Europe, N America and the Far East. Other interests include video movies, cooking, and sport. His two married sons are also involved in playing Christian music internationally. Nos.242, 244, 311, 479.
