1038. Where you sit in kingly glory

Author: Emma Turl

Where you sit in kingly glory,
Jesus, stoop to hear our songs
as we worship you, most worthy
Christ, to whom all praise belongs:
who in anguish on a cross
rescued us from sin and loss.

2. By the Father high exalted
and enthroned at his right hand,
Name above all names accorded,
royal Son, you take command.
We look up, by grace restored,
privileged to call you Lord!

3. In our lives involved so deeply,
you make our concerns your care;
your compassion for your people
moves your heart to constant prayer.
Ever may this thought renew
love in us that burns for you.

4. Fill our hearts with expectation,
and prepare us for the day
when your church, from every nation,
joins with you in heaven to stay:
now our Saviour, Lord and Guide;
soon our Bridegroom, we your bride.
