193. Round the Lord in glory seated

Authors: Mant, Richard, Idle, Christopher Martin

Round the Lord in glory seated
flew the choirs of seraphim,
filled his temple, and repeated
each to each the alternate hymn:

2. ‘Lord, your glory fills the heaven,
earth is with its fulness stored;
to your name be glory given:
Holy, holy, holy, Lord!’

3. At the sound, when all is shaken,
sinners fear, unclean and lost,
till by grace their guilt is taken,
wrath removed at fearful cost.

4. Can we hear the voice then crying,
‘Who will go—whom shall I send?’,
‘Here am I, send me’ replying,
trusting, faithful to the end?

5. Still attuned to heaven’s glory,
yet we face a world of need,
sent to tell a Servant’s story:
Christ has died, has risen indeed.

6. Heaven is still with glory ringing;
earth takes up the angels’ cry,
‘Holy, holy, holy’, singing,
‘Lord of hosts, the Lord most high!’

7. Lord, your glory fills the heaven,
earth is with its fulness stored;
to your name be glory given:
Holy, holy, holy, Lord!
