Love was outpoured in the blood that was shed:

broken his body, disfigured his head;

2. We were redeemed by the blood that was shed:

ransomed, delivered, alive from the dead;
seated with him above.
Nailed to his cross,
buried with Christ,
risen the day he was raised.

3. Love in our place was once broken and bled:

substitute, willing to die in our stead,
Jesus my Lord above.
Ours was the sin,
his were the nails,
all condemnation erased.
