I hear the words of love,
I trust in Jesus’ blood,
I see the mighty sacrifice:
and I have peace with God.
2. This everlasting peace,
as certain as his name,
is sure as God’s eternal throne:
unchangeably the same.
3. My love is often low,
my joy still ebbs and flows;
but peace with God remains the same:
no change my Father knows.
4. I change, he changes not,
the Christ can never die;
his love, not mine, the resting place,
his truth, not mine, the tie.
