b Hornsey, N London (Middx), 1814, d Highgate or Hampstead, N London (Middx) 1868. A chorister at the Chapel Royal, he went on to study the organ under S S Wesley and became organist at Leyton (Essex), Hornsey Parish Ch (for 19 years) and St Anne’s Highgate, N London. He also played the violin and cello, and composed for strings and piano. Nos.429, 967.
