b Cheltenham, Gloucs 1957. Edgehill Coll, Bideford, Devon; then moved to London to study piano performing at the RCM (ARCM, Teachers; PGCE and Dip in Music Education, Trinity). She taught class music for 7 years at a private school in Claygate, Surrey, and in 1985 became Music Director at Holy Trinity Ch, Hounslow, Middx. With her husband Derek she now leads the music for their home congregation, Chessington Evangelical Ch, Surrey, where she also leads women’s Bible groups and helps in ‘Exploring Christianity’. Her piano teaching also continues. Seeing herself not so much a composer as facilitating friends who write hymn words, in order for them to be sung, she wrote her first such tune in 1997; 4 are included in the 2004 CH, all composed for 20th-c texts. No.863.
