A compilation from the Strict (Gospel Standard) Baptist ‘Companion Tune Book Trustees’, entitled Companion Tunes to Gadsby’s Hymnbook, which went into several edns from its original printing in 1927 (6th edn 1971). With an original Preface signed by ‘The Committee’, it was well-indexed (except that composers were not listed) and with its 2 supplements exceeded 1000 tunes. As with the earlier Bristol Tune Book, a stanza of text was occasionally printed within the staves where words are to be repeated. CH has also drawn on this source. No.262.
