b ?Lancs 1788, d 1857. During his lifetime, his hymn tunes were circulated in ms in Accrington (Lancs) and more widely throughout the district. They never became well-known beyond there, but two of them appear in GH, including one in Praise! which GH sets to two adjacent texts. No information about his life has yet come to light, but his music is housed in the Methodist archives of the John Rylands Library in Manchester. No.145B=941.
