He left his home of perfect light
and came to earth in poverty,
to live with sinners lost in night,
for me.
2. Throughout his life of thirty years
no man was hated more than he;
he bore rejection, pain and tears
for me.
3. In agony, he bled and died,
from sin and guilt to set me free;
the Lord of life was crucified
for me.
