1002. God shall my comfort be

Author: Timothy Dudley-Smith

God shall my comfort be,
my consolation;
kept by his love I see
no condemnation.
I face without dismay
that final judgement day,
for wrath is turned away:
he is salvation.

2. All thanks to God belong,
praise past expressing,
salvation, strength and song
in him possessing.
Though all seems dead and dry
no fear of want have I;
the wells of life supply
his joy and blessing.

3. Sing then what God has done,
all songs excelling,
he gave his only Son,
death’s dread dispelling.
Let all the earth proclaim
his praise who overcame;
the greatness of his Name
for ever telling.
